Corbridge: The perfect destination to enjoy the Northumberland countryside.
If you are planning to spend your summer holidays in the UK, why not discover the Northumberland countryside!
Corbridge is a picturesque village located in the Northumberland countryside. It was once a Roman Town, used as a supply base by Romans and civilians, and the remains can still be explored at the English Heritage site. The town is also perfectly located to visit Hadrian’s Wall, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Corbridge has evolved from a military centre to a civilian community, with a variety of independent shops, ensuring a fun and nice shopping experience. From fashion up to art and craft, you have plenty of choice and shops to explore.
The village also has plenty of walks to offer. Walk along the river with your pooch and let it swim or paddle at the Devil’s Water. You can walk up to Hexham and once there, you can visit the Abbey. Hexham Abbey is perhaps one of the most beautiful ones in the country, with its stained-glass windows and many interesting artefacts and surprises to discover.
Another nearby walk is Hareshaw Linn, featuring a beautiful waterfall at the end of the trail. A bit further afield, you can enjoy another delightful walk, Allen Banks and Staward Gorge.
And if cycling is your thing, Hadrian’s Cycleway also passes right in front of the Angel, so we are the perfect place to spend the night, have some food, a few drinks, rest and recharge batteries for the following day!
Moreover, Corbridge is easily accessible by train from the East and West coast, and the Railway station is only 10 minutes away by foot from the Angel. There are also good bus services, which had their stop at the front of the Angel too. If you are travelling by car, it is easily accessible by the A69 which connects Newcastle and Carlisle.
